Editorial Policy: How We Verify Health Information

Health content can affect real decisions, so our editorial policy is built around accuracy, transparency and humility about what a website can do. Our mission is simple: explain health topics in plain English, checked against public guidance from WHO, CDC and NIH.

Source Hierarchy

  1. International guidelines: WHO.
  2. National agencies: CDC, NIH (MedlinePlus, NIDDK), NHS, NICE, FDA, DRAP.
  3. Systematic reviews and major clinical guidelines from professional societies.
  4. Peer-reviewed studies indexed on PubMed.
  5. Official medicine labelling: DailyMed and OpenFDA.

We do not use forums, social media or commercial product pages as sources for medical facts.

Writing and Review Process

  1. Draft: written in original plain English from the sources above.
  2. Fact check: numbers such as normal ranges and doses are checked against the primary source.
  3. Clinical review: where a licensed clinician has reviewed a page, their real name and qualification are shown. Pages awaiting clinical review say so.
  4. Publication: every page shows Published, Last reviewed and Next review dates.
  5. Scheduled review: at least every 6 months, or sooner when guidelines change.

Authors and Transparency

Content is written and edited by GHKH Team (Editorial team of Global Health Knowledge Hub). We will never invent doctors, credentials, reviews or patient stories. AI tools may assist with drafting or formatting, but a human checks every fact against sources before publication.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and note significant changes on the page. See the corrections policy or report an error.

Independence

We are funded by Google AdSense advertising (pub-1648504352534234). We accept no payment from pharmaceutical or device companies for coverage, and ad placement never influences what we write.

Limits

Our guides are educational and cannot replace an individual assessment. We aim for E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust) by being honest about who we are and showing our sources. Read the medical disclaimer.
